E T Russell __ The Big Bear Valley Historical Society invites the public to the
Grand Opening of the Caddy Shack. The only building still existing from the Historic
Peter Pan Woodland Club era has a new home-site on the property of the Big Bear
Valley Historical Museum, located in Big Bear City.
Saturday
August 30t at the museum, the Caddy Shack Grand Opening celebration will
be at 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. The museum is located east, off of Greenway Road
and Big Bear Boulevard, in the Big Bear City Park
Representative Paul Cook who serves the 8th Congressional District, will iniate the ribbon
cutting of the Caddy Shack. Enjoy live music during the evening L A Harmonics
Band performing special music from the 1930s, and 40s.
At
no cost to guests, the museum has many interactive exhibits: Blacksmiths, Gold
Panning and Steer Roping; as well as the exhibit buildings of artifacts from
the Big Bear Valley on display for enjoyment. The museum will be staffed, with step-back-in-time
docents dressed in period attire waiting to greet everyone.
The Big Bear Valley Historical Society announces
their head-start on the 2015
membership drive. New society members who join until October 5th will
receive with their membership a free copy of a hardback table top book, Saga of
the San Bernardino’s by Pauliena B. LaFuze.
