Big Bear Idol Music Competition

2015 Vocal Winner
Spencer Cassling 2015 Violin Winner
Catie Donoho
The
2016 Big Bear Idol Music Competition,
annually sponsored by the Rotary Club of
Big Bear Lake, is structured for serious musicians of high school age. The event is held at the Big Bear Lake
Performing Arts Center, Saturday February 20, at 6:00 P.M. The special competition event is open to the
public and there is no cost for admission.
The
Idol provides students an opportunity
to perform on stage before a live audience. The students will be evaluated, as
well as they each will receive constructive comments from qualified music
educators who share nuggets of wisdom to encourage the performers.
The
Big Bear Idol Music Competition categories
of competition are: Instrumental, Piano, Classical Vocal, and Non-Classical Vocal. The top three places in each category earn
cash prizes.
First
place winners are offered the opportunity to compete at the district level,
against winners from other Rotary clubs from the Riverside and San Bernardino County
areas.
