VLAT AND ADDITIONAL DOZERS HAVE BEEN REQUESTED AND STRUCTURE PROTECTION
PREPARATIONS ARE BEING MADE.

FOREST
SERVICE GOT BETTER MAPPING OF THE SOUTH PORTION OF THE LAKE FIRE & HAS
UPDATED THE TOTAL ACREAGE TO 18,875.
Early Wednesday June 24th,
the San Bernardino Big Bear Sheriff notified the media of a Pre-cautionary Measure
Evacuation at the Camp Oakes area off of State Route 38 at Rainbow Lane.
The
LAKE FIRE flared up in the area of Rainbow Lane near Onyx Summit. As a
precautionary measure, Unified Command has made the decision to evacuate Camp
Oakes in Lake Williams community. The camp is in session, with approximately 366 campers on site.
Transportation
to relocate the campers, has been arranged through Bear Valley Unified School
District using school buses. With the assistance of Red Cross, Community
Church in Big Bear Lake has been opened up as the designated evacuation
site. NO OTHER EVACUATIONS are in effect within the Big Bear Valley at this
time.
5:00 P.M.
The size of the TFR (Temporary Flight Restriction) to cover the new expansion
of the Fire, to the Northeast. The expansion will give Air resources, a
safe-haven to work within.
7:03 P.M.
LAKE FIRE update from the Forest Service: 20,875 acres and 27% contained.
7:05 P.M.
it was
reported that the Lake Fire skirted around the lane area, with no structure damage
or loss. Two San Bernardino County two assisted
in structure defense.
9:52 P.M.
Per San Bernardino County Fire – Mandatory Evacuations are in effect for the communities of Burns Canyon and Rimrock. Pioneer Town is under voluntary evacuation.
10:27 P.M.
A large animal shelter has been set up at the
Yucca Valley Equestrian Center, located at 7429 Avalon Avenue, in Yucca Valley.
