SNOW VALLEY Ski Resort

 

 

Arrowhead Area California Highway Patrol, Running Springs, CA May 31, 2019___   



Thursday, May 30th, 2019, 4:00 P.M.  Highway Patrol responded to a call of a solo vehicle traffic collision that occurred on the State Route-18, south of the entrance to Snow Valley Ski Resort.

At the scene the responders found the male driver (Party #1), a 19-year-old, was driving a black 2017 Ford Fiesta (Vehicle #1), northbound on SR-18, at an unknown speed.

Later, the driver of the Ford Fiesta, was identified as 19-year old, Colin McDonald, a resident of Big Bear Lake, also a 2018 Big Bear High School graduate.

 

For reasons still under investigation, Colin lost control of his vehicle and traveled onto the right shoulder of SR-18. The vehicle then left the roadway and collided with a tree.  Finally the Ford came to rest on its wheels, in the Snow Valley parking lot.

 

Colin McDonald sustained major injuries and was transported to Bear Valley Community Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
