BOB SALISBURY
Saturday, August 15th, the Community Arts Theater Society (CATS),
in association with The Broadway Café, will once again sponsor a Silent-movie Under the Stars featuring the incredible BOB SALISBURY, the internationally
known theatre organist. SALISBURY,
will accompany with his famous underscoring for the 1924 classic silent movie, PETER
PAN, the first film adaptation of the play by J. M. Barrie. The
classic story follows the plot of the original play and includes silent
film star Anna May Wong as Tiger Lily.

BOB SALISBURY,
formerly a Big Bear City resident, is famous as the long-time organist of the
1,264 pipes, Page Organ at the Avalon Theatre on Catalina Island.
Salisbury is in high demand and travels throughout the country, playing various
venues. One of the very few organists still performing silent movie
underscoring, his unique talent is acclaimed all over the U.S.
Salisbury’ s appearance is a rare opportunity to experience his
amazing talents in Big Bear Valley. This silent-movie night promises to be
a once-in-a-lifetime experience for
families of all ages to enjoy movies, as they were originally produced before talkies and soundtracks revolutionized
the industry. A delight to watch and hear he plays the entire score,
including sound effects, live and in-person!
DINNER , LIVE MUSIC and a Silent MOVIE!
The family-affordable Dinner
and Movie tickets are $20 for adults and for children 15 years old or younger
are $10. The popular yearly outdoor event at The Broadway Café Saturday
evening begins with Dinner to be served at 6:30 P.M. The all-inclusive ticket price includes the
movie, entertainment, full dinner of homemade spaghetti dinner with meat balls,
salad & garlic toast. Valley favorites, the Heart Lights will
entertain during the dinner hour. Beer and wine are available for purchase. And of course for movie watching, enjoy the
free pop corn!
Under The Stars Silent movie PETER PAN featuring BOB SALISBURY at the organ,
will close at 10:00 P.M. It’s
advisable to bring a sweater and a flash light.
Parking will be available behind the Warehouse Theater on
Aeroplane Street, Tulip Lane on the corner of Division Road and Big Bear
Boulevard, the lot next to LaPaws and at the old Riffenburghs Lumber parking
