E T Russell The Mountain Top Strings
will bring beautiful music to the Village of Big Bear Lake, Thursday July 31st. Performing from 6:30 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. familiar classical
music, as well as music of today, the young musicians are under the direction of Sharon Rizzo. Presented
by the Arts Council of Big Bear Valley the evening concert is free to the
public.
A
member of the The Lighthouse Project, the Mountain Top Strings will feature the
original Mountain Marvelettes quartet — Jodi Cline, Tori Waner, Jessica Brasher
and Kyler Carmody performing songs from the 60’s tunes, and Dakota Panczak, a
country/pop vocalist with Steve Thompson as the sound engineer.
All
five vocalists received training at the music studio of Diane Sloan of Big Bear
Valley. A Mozart trio for voice, flute and piano will round out the evening’s
program.
The
presentation is a Tour de Big Bear event by the Big Bear Cycling Association.
Beer
and wine may be purchased at the event, with the proceeds going to local
schools’ music programs. The concert will be held in the Village at the Christmas
Tree Lot at the corner of Village Drive and Pine Knot Avenue.
The
Arts Council of Big Bear Valley is currently preparing for the August 16 and 17, Art on the Lake Fine
Arts Festival. The Council is also organizing Paint Mixers and the Music at the
Mansion Summer Concerts at the Knickerbocker Mansion.
