The Big Bear Lake Rotary Club Foundation and its Rotarians know
how to celebrate Valentine’s Saturday evening, February 14, 2015, Rotarians will
host the second annual gala with a festive Valentine’s
Sweetheart Ball to celebrate the special occasion, while supporting a
worthy cause. The purpose of the Ball is
to financially support the Bear Valley
Community Healthcare District needs with the renovating of the local
hospital’s patients rooms. A major sponsor, Bear Valley Community Healthcare District Foundation is working
with the Rotary Club toward this necessary goal.
The
venue for the Valentine’s Ball is the Northwoods Resort Ballroom in the Village
of Big Bear Lake. The festive occasion will begin at 5:00 P.M. with cocktails,
a no-host bar Saturday evening and dinner will to be served at 6:00 P.M. Fine
dining food, select wine, ballroom dancing accompanied by Mark Dolan’s Whitewater Band,
while other fundraiser opportunities for guests to participate in silent and
live auctions that will also benefit the BVCHD Foundation.
All
proceeds from the Valentine’s Sweetheart Ball will be donated to the BVCHD hospital
to aid in the updating and refurbishment of patient rooms; that overdue
improvements are estimated to be at least $10,000.
The
cost to update each room is approximately and there are currently several
patient rooms that still need updating. In
2014, the hospital room renovation project was acquired by the local Rotary
Club Foundation and the BVCHD Hospital Foundation. The first Valentine’s
Sweetheart Ball event raised more than $30,000; with those funds applied to complete
the renovation of three rooms.
“Our
goal is to raise enough money for two or hopefully more hospital room
renovations in 2015” said Carol and Don Bremer, Sweetheart Ball Committee
Chairs.
Dance
the night away! Black Tie or Big Bear Formal is the optional dress for the
gala. The Sweetheart Ball tickets are $55 per person. Space is limited to the
first 200 guests, so please reserve your tickets early.
In
the event you cannot attend, your generous donation will gladly be
accepted. All donations are tax
deductible. Sponsorship opportunities,
including hospital room naming designations, are also available and will
certainly be welcome.
The
community’s support is greatly appreciated as together with Big Bear Lake Rotary Club assistance, Big Bear Valley’s hospital will benefit.
