FLYING OBJECTS Interfere with Fire Fighting

The Sterling Fire
was reported at 6:30 P.M. Thursday June 25th. The fire was first seen
in the foothills north of I-210 and Del Rosa Avenue in the city of San
Bernardino.
Immediate response was by several agencies: CALFIRE, City of
San Bernardino and Forest Service responded with dozers, engines, and crews.
Additional resources were requested from the Lake Fire, south of Big Bear
Valley.
A temporary Command Post is at Sterling Cross of the
Foothills.
Responding Crews include:
22 engines
2 crews
1 Water tender
Lead Air Attack and Tankers
Night Flying Helicopter
Drones
temporarily halted tanker operations, but operations soon resumed. One drone
was interfering with fire operations and has not been located.
A second
drone was reported by a concerned citizen and it was located. After reviewing
the footage it was determined that it was not interfering with fire operations.
