Grand Marshall David Arquette
The
Shortest CHRISTMAS Parade

Parade
The
Winter-wonderland of the San Bernardino Mountains with its chill of the
mountain air and the surrounding fragrant forest offers the perfect setting for the 39th Annual Blue
Jay Christmas Parade in Blue Jay, California.
In
the San Bernardino Mountains Saturday, December 1st, just one mile west
of Lake Arrowhead, the parade will begin with grand entrance of Grand Marshall David
Arquette, in a horse-drawn carriage sponsored by local business, Country
Furniture. Like many in the Mountain
communities the actor, producer, director Arquette and his family reside in the
Lake Arrowhead community, as well have another home in California. The Arquette family enjoys the unity and
serenity of the mountain life-style.
Rumored
to be the shortest parade route, by
the Guinness Book of World Records, the parade kicks off on State Route-189 in
Agua Fria and ends at North Bay Road. The traditional Holiday event begins at 2:00
P.M. with approximately 50 various groups representing local mountain
communities, including marching bands, fire departments and police, local charitable organizations,
many businesses from Blue Jay and other nearby towns. SANTA CLAUS?!
Most definitely!
Sponsoring
this year’s parade are: Country Furniture, Coldwell Banker Sky Ridge Realty,
Blue Jay Union 76, Lake Arrowhead Country Club, Arrowhead Lake Association,
Wheeler Steffen/Sotheby’s, and Logan Construction.
State
Route-189 is scheduled to be closed to traffic from Daley Canyon Road to North
Bay Road from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M.
It
wouldn’t be a Christmas Parade without a little dusting of snow or rain!
Everyone is encouraged to bundle-up and not let Winter’s weather impede the
spirit of the festive community to enjoy the Christmas Parade. If the weather
does produce a heavy storm or too much ice on the roads that could make the
parade route dangerous, the parade could be called-off and would not be
rescheduled.
Let’s celebrate a Merry Christmas Parade!
