Restaurant Heavily Damaged

Big
Bear Lake, California ____ Thursday November 24th (Thanksgiving Day),
at
approximately 3:00 A.M., Big Bear Fire Fighters responded to a commercial
structure fire alert.
In
the chilly early morning hours flames were discovered coming from a Big Bear
Lake restaurant. Pong’s Restaurant, located at 42104 Big Bear Boulevard, is a
familiar dining establishment.
Upon
arrival, the initial Big Bear Fire Fighting crews confirmed the commercial
structure fire was heavily engulfed by flames and smoke coming from the rear of
the building. Thirteen Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze with the additional
assistance from San Bernardino County Fire and Cal Fire personnel, as well .
Significant damage was present in the kitchen area and in the rear of the
building.
The
Pong’s Restaurant was not open at the time of the fire; neither were there any
occupants in the building at the time of the fire. No related injuries were
reported during Thursday’s fire incident.
San
Bernardino County Sheriff’s Bomb and Arson Unit and Big Bear Fire Department immediately
began a full investigation.
