The 2015 Eagles of Excellence Award goes to...  

   Ed Wallace  was raised in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and attended Cleveland State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Upon graduating Ed went to work with a Cleveland based construction company. His first assignment was as a field engineer on a major project in San Juan, Puerto Rico where he spent two years. After moving to California in the early 70’s he went to work for Parsons Engineering and Construction in Pasadena where he spent his first 17 years managing major projects on the North Slope of Alaska. He was transferred to Houston in the mid 90’sand put in charge of engineering and procurement for a large refinery in Venezuela. Upon completion of this effort he moved to Venezuela to oversee Venezuelan contractors that were supplying materials and fabricated items to the refinery construction effort.

When Ed retired in 2002, he and Jeanne moved to their home in Big Bear Lake. They have six children and eleven grandchildren spread between California, Oregon and Arizona. Ed has been on the board of the Sierra Club -Big Bear Group for twelve years, half of that time as group chair. He also serves on the board of the Big Bear Valley Trails Foundation, the Friends of Big Bear Valley and the Big Bear Valley Education Trust. For Ed Trust, Ed is the land use manager for the Big Bear Valley Wildland Park and Pebble Plain Preserve. Ed enjoys working as a volunteer ranger patrolling the San Gorgonio Wilderness for the San Gorgonio Wilderness Association. His hobbies are photography, hiking and backpacking along with messing with my grandkids.
