Sheriff Detectives Make
Arrest
After 80-year old Man Found Dead

Department personnel
requested assistance from the San
Bernardino County Sheriff Department in Victorville at the Mountain Vista Apartment
complex for a medical aid call, Thursday, February 21, 2019. The reporting
party called for medical aid of 80-year-old male that was unresponsive.
The
Sheriff Deputies and Fire Paramedics arrived, at approximately 2:49 P.M. to find
the male victim in the bathroom, then pronounced
‘deceased’. The authorities noted
injuries on the victim’s body and called for Specialized Investigators to
conduct the thorough investigation. The
victim was identified as 80 year-old, John Tucker, a resident
of Victorville, California.
San Bernardino County Sheriff - Specialized
Investigations Division Detectives responded and are currently conducting a
full-investigation. The Detectives learned that Patricia Jones 62 year-old,
also a resident of Victorville, is the victim’s girlfriend and full-time
caregiver. Jones was the only person
caring for John Tucker in recent weeks.
After processing the scene and
conducting interviews, San Bernardino County
Sheriff Department Detectives
arrested Patricia Jones for Elder Abuse of the 80 year-old man. Jones was booked at West Valley Detention
Center and is being held on $50,000 bail. She is expected to be arraigned
on Tuesday, February 26th in Victorville Superior Court.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. The
investigation is ongoing and no additional information is available for release
at this time.
