Big Bear Sheriff Citizens on Patrol
(COP) has an unlimited list of great prizes to raffle off September 2,
2014. The annual event is to promote community awareness and attract COP
recruitment.
Team members offering raffle tickets, are visible at several
locations: Farmers Market, shopping areas, and various events in the community.
In appreciation of the security of the COP,
the raffle prizes have been contributed by Valley individuals and businesses. Some
of the prizes include a $500 money card, firewood, helicopter tour, pet grooming,
wood carvings, snow play, restaurants gift certificates, and many others.
To qualify for the raffle drawing tickets are $2.00 each, three
tickets for $5.00 or fifteen for $20.00. COP’s
will hold the drawing at the Big
Bear Sheriff Station Tuesday September 2nd. Prize winners
will be notified by telephone.
The local Citizens on
Patrol is a volunteer team of the San
Bernardino County Sheriff Department that serves the public by monitoring
the neighborhoods, assisting deputies with control at events, and basically helping
keep law and order. The team members are searching for volunteers to
join the COP
Team.
Application processing time is three months. The accepted applicants
will be eligible for the Academy. The Training Academy including, CPR,
First-Aid, Radio Procedures, Patrol and Traffic Control is scheduled for
October, 2014.
