The Knickerbocker Vegetation Fire late afternoon Tuesday caused a neighborhood alarm with an immediate response to a watchful property owner’s 9-1-1 call, at  approximate  4:00 P.M. Fire units reported that they saw smoke on the mountain-side from the Big Bear Fire Station on Big Bear Boulevard.

Quick to rescue were Big Bear Fire Fighters, Forest Service ‘Hot Shots’, as well as an aircraft response that was cancelled soon after the fire was determined to be under control.
