Arrest Alfonso Ornelas

Saturday morning, San Bernardino County
Sheriff (Yucaipa) Deputies responded at approximately 11:44 A.M., to a
medical aid call of a six-month old child not breathing. A Deputy began
lifesaving measures until medical aid arrived. The baby was transported
to Loma Linda University Medical Center. Doctors continued lifesaving measures
until she was pronounced deceased at 6:41 P.M.
San Bernardino County
Sheriff Detectives
with the Crimes Against Children and Homicide Detail responded to
conduct the investigation. Following their investigation, the baby girl’s
father, Alfonso Ornelas, was arrested for Murder
and Assault on a child causing great bodily injury/death. No other details
are being released at this time.
