Fire Fighters Go County-wide
The San
Bernardino County Professional Firefighters Local #935 came
together throughout the San Bernardino County, Saturday February 20th, for a
countywide Fill-the-Boot Campaign in support of one of their own. Twenty-nine
year-old Cory Norton, husband and father,
has been a Fire Fighter/Paramedic and Engineer with San Bernardino County Fire
Department, since 2005.
Cory
has been diagnosed with Epithelioid Sarcoma, a rare
cancer, and is in need of help to fight this disease. A group of Big
Bear Fire Department Fire Fighters and staff, along with members of Fawnskin’s San Bernardino County Fire Station #96,
took The
Boot to the Village of Big Bear Lake seeking donations for Cory
Norton’s care.
The Fire Department Crews, also made home-baked goods,
selling them for the cause, a long an expensive fight for Cory. All told $7,400
was raised on his behalf in Big Bear Lake alone. San Bernardino County Professional
Firefighters Local #935 conveys, “Thanks, to everyone involved for
their support and donations!”
