Corona Man
Charged
With MURDER 3 TEENAGERS
Temescal Canyon Road North of Trilogy Parkway
California Highway Patrol-Riverside units responded
to a report of traffic collision with possible fatalities, Sunday, January 19,
2020, at approximately 10:23 P.M. Upon arrival, at Temescal Canyon Road, north
of Trilogy Parkway, the CHP Officers located a 2002 Toyota Prius that had been
driven off the east edge of Temescal Canyon Road, and collided with a tree, resulting
in the death of three occupants. All three
male Prius occupants were under the age of 18 years old. Three other teen males
were occupants in the Prius, including the driver were transported to area
hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Based
on physical evidence, witness statements, and investigating officers it has
been determined that Mr. Anurag Chandra, a 42-year-old resident of Corona,
California was driving a 2019 Infinity Q50 and intentionally rammed the
Prius. This intentional act caused the
Prius to leave the roadway and collide with a tree. Mr. Chandra then fled the scene to a nearby
residence. Witnesses followed Mr.
Chandra to the residence, and alerted authorities.
California Highway Patrol
Officers responded to Chandra’s residence early Monday morning January 20, 2020
and took him into custody without incident, consequently booking Anurag Chandra
to the Robert Presley Detention Center on three counts of murder.
This is an active investigation and any
witnesses who may have observed the incident are encouraged to call the
