From the

County of San Bernardino

Board of Supervisors

Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by today's attack at North Park Elementary School in San Bernardino.

We are at a loss to understand the evil that inflicts such senseless violence on innocent victims - and at an elementary school, no less.

This is a time to draw close together and provide care and support to those who are suffering.  Our hearts are with the students, parents, faculty and administration of North Park Elementary and with the entire San Bernardino City Unified School District.

I want to thank the men and women of the San Bernardino City Police Department, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, California Highway Patrol, County Fire Department and other first responders for their work on this difficult day.

Thank You also to San Bernardino County Department of Behavioral Health and its Crisis Response Team members who moved quickly to reach out in support of those in pain. They have activated their ACCESS crisis line at (888) 743-1478. The District Attorney's Victim Services Counseling Line is also available at (909) 382-3846 for additional assistance.

A candlelight vigil will be held at 6:00 P.M. tonight at Our Lady of the Assumption, 796 W 48th Street in San Bernardino.

Today is a sad day for us all. But we are strong and we will move forward, together.
