August 28, 2019, San Bernardino,
CA____ The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is pleased to
announce that State Route 74 (SR-74) will extend the escort schedule starting
Labor Day Weekend - Friday, August 30, 2019. Travelers will have 24/7 escort
access on SR-74 from Hemet to Idyllwild.
Caltrans will have a moratorium on routine lane closures, beginning Friday,
August 30 at 6:00 A.M. through Tuesday, September 3 at 6:00 P.M.
By late October 2019,
Caltrans will change the escort access to a 24/7
flagging-operations.
Caltrans
is pleased to announce that starting Tuesday,
November 1st, State Route 243 (SR-243) will be opened to some-type
of limited access (escort or a flagging operation).
Caltrans
would like to remind travelers to be
work zone alert as maintenance and contractor crews will be in
the area on both SR-74 and SR-243 for the remainder of the year, to restore the
routes to full operational access.
