Late Evening in Highland

   

Friday, March 15, 2019____     

Highland Police (San Bernardino County Sheriff) responded to a report of shots heard at a Highland, California residence in the 7500 block of Weaver Street, Friday evening just before midnight.

Upon arrival, the officers learned that a large party was being held at the residence, when shots were fired at approximately 11:19 P.M. 



The Deputies were also advised that three persons attending the party were injured by gunfire and were taken from the residence by persons at the party.

A 16-year-old male was transported by a private party, when they flagged down an ambulance that transported him to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

 

San Bernardino County Sheriff Detectives - Specialized Investigations Division, Homicide Detail responded to the scene to conduct the investigation.  Through investigation, Sheriff Detectives learned over 200 persons were attending the party when a verbal argument between several subjects was heard prior to shots being fired. 

The Investigators learned the party had been advertised on social media, causing a large crowd to gather at the location.



The 22-year old male was transported to a local hospital and is being treated for a non-life threatening injury. The 16-year old female was treated for a graze wound and later released from the hospital.
