$26 million Interstate 10 Pavement Replacement Project

San Bernardino, California ____ The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) continues work on the $26 million Interstate 10 (I-10) Pavement Replacement that is replacing concrete pavement in both directions of I-10 between Ford Street in the City of Redlands and Live Oak Canyon Road in the City of Yucaipa.

Each weekend I-10 motorists will be using the crossover lane during weekend construction work. Westbound lanes will be reduced to THREE LANES (including the crossover lane), between 9:00 P.M. Friday night through 4:00 A.M. Monday morning. Westbound Ford Street, Wabash Avenue, Yucaipa Boulevard and Live Oak Canyon Road on/off ramps will be closed during the weekend work.

The crossover lane merges over the center median and onto the number one (1) lane of the eastbound traffic. The lane is 11-feet wide with one (1) foot shoulders and K-rail on both sides. Once a vehicle enters the crossover lane at Live Oak Canyon Road in Yucaipa, it will NOT be able to exit until Ford Street in the City of Redlands. Trucks and busses are not allowed in the crossover lane. The eastbound direction will maintain four open lanes of travel. Eastbound lane widths will also be reduced to 11 feet.

Motorists are advised that the speed limit is reduced to 55 MPH.

The temporary traffic configuration and crossover lane are necessary to

replace the pavement in the number three and four lanes on the mainline.

Advanced warning signs will be placed to inform motorists of closures.
