Recently elected as the 2017 Chairperson of the San Bernardino County Republican Party Jan Leja has taken the leadership role seriously.  Jan is also active in various philanthropic organizations. She serves as Board President for Renu Hope Foundation, Friends of Wildwood and Lake Perris State Parks Board of Directors Vice – Chair, and Crafton Hills Community College Foundation Board of Directors.

Jan and her husband, Lt Col Doug Leja (USAF), reside in Yucaipa. They have two adult children and one grandchild. 

 Since 1989, Jan Leja has had the opportunity to serve in the public policy arena at the local, state, and federal levels.  

Besides serving on the Republican County Central Committee, Leja is also a delegate to the California Republican Party where she serves on the Rules Committee. Leja serves as an officer on the State County Chairs Executive Committee. 

Leja has served as a Mayor, Chairperson of LAFCO, Vice Chair of California Local Agency Formation Commission.  Jan served on various regional boards dealing with water, transportation, and land use.  She worked on staff for State Senator Jim Brulte and currently for Congressman Paul Cook.

Jan Leja has received numerous awards and recognition for her dedication as an elected official.  To name some of Leja’s recognitions:  The Distinguished Leadership Award from the American Planning Association, and the Samuel Adams Award for Outstanding Leadership in Local Government 

Also,  Jan Leja actively serves other various philanthropic organizations, including the current  Board President for Renu Hope Foundation, Friends of Wildwood and Lake Perris State Parks Board of Directors Vice – Chair, and Crafton Hills Community College Foundation Board of Directors.
