Superintendent
Wednesday evening, during a school board meeting
in the Bonita Unified School District, the Governing Board selected Mr. Kurt
Madden as their new Superintendent, effective July 1, 2015.
A Special Board Meeting of the Bear Valley
Unified School District Governing Board is scheduled to be held on Monday, May
11, 2015, 1:00 P.M. at the School District Offices. During this Special Board
Meeting, Dr. Kegham Tashjian, a Consultant with the San Bernardino County
Superintendent of Schools, will be in attendance to review the superintendent
search process and discuss the possibility of the selection of an Interim
Superintendent.
“It has
been a privilege and honor to serve as Superintendent of Schools in the Bear
Valley Unified School District since May of 2011. I would like to express my
appreciation to our Governing Board, staff members, parents, students,
community members, and the numerous dedicated service organizations in our
valley for providing me the opportunity to work in such a top-notch school
district. During the upcoming weeks, I will continue to work with our Governing
Board to ensure we have a smooth transition and are prepared for the start of
the 2015-2016 school year,” commented Mr. Madden.

The Bonita Unified School District is a full Kindergarten through 12th grades district, that serves the
communities of San Dimas and La Verne. The Bonita District’s Superintendent
Dr. Gary Rapkin has announced his retirement.
