SR-18 North of Upper Waterman Drive

   Collision on Upper WATERMAN   

 

According to the Arrowhead California Highway Patrol incident report regarding the head-on traffic collision on State Route 18, north of Upper Waterman Canyon Road that occurred late Wednesday afternoon; the drivers of each of the two vehicles involved, had major injuries.

William Matthew Mclaughlin, a resident of Crestline was driving a white, 2013 Jeep Wrangler northbound on State Route 18. Forty-two year old Mclaughlin, suffered head injuries and upper torso injuries. He was transported by San Bernardino County Sheriff Air to Loma Linda University Medical Center.

Driver of the 2006 Jeep Commander traveling southbound on State Route 18, was Robert Stephan Stuhr, a 62 year old a Lake Arrowhead resident.  

Stuhr’s injuries were: abrasions to lower left leg, lacerations to left elbow and painful sternum. He was transported by San Bernardino County Fire to Saint Bernardines Hospital in San Bernardino.  

The cause of the traffic collision is still under investigation.

Late Wednesday afternoon, August 26th,  Arrowhead California Highway Patrol  units responded to a head-on traffic collision on State Route 18, north of Upper Waterman Canyon Road.  Traffic was blocked on both directions for approximately one hour for scene investigation and Party extrication.  Parties involved were airlifted with major injuries to St. Bernardines and to Loma Lima Linda Medical Center.  Parties have not been positively identified yet.  More details will be revealed as the investigation continues.  Officer Ron Jedlick is conducting the investigation.
