Quintero reports:
Saturday afternoon July 16, 2016, at just before 5:00 P.M.,
CHP officers responded to the scene of a traffic collision on State Route -38,
west of Jenks Lake Road West.
Mr. Quinn Murray, a 27-year old resident of Yucaipa,
California, was riding his 1989, black Suzuki motorcycle westbound on State
Route 38.
Ms. Candace Bottella, a 27-year old resident of Riverside,
California, was driving a 2000, silver Toyota Camry eastbound on State Route 38.
For an unknown reason, Murray began passing a white pickup
also traveling westbound on SR-38. Murray rode the Suzuki motorcycle left of/over
the double yellow lines into the opposing lane, directly in the path of the
Toyota Camry.
The Suzuki motorcycle and the Toyota Camry collided
head-on. Murray was ejected from the
Suzuki motorcycle and sustained severe injuries. Botella sustained minor injuries.
Murray was transported by San Bernardino Sheriff Helicopter
to Loma Linda University Medical Center for treatment of his severe
injuries. Mr. Murray succumbed to his
injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. San Bernardino Sheriff Department/Coroner
Division was notified.

officer.
