Community Visioning Workshop

   The Rathbun Creek Project  

The residents of the Big Bear Valley are invited to create a community vision for a trail, trail amenities, and commercial development along the Rathbun Creek Corridor. The evening will include the three primary elements of the planning and design process, including environmental sustainability, economic sustainability, and social equity. The meeting will be interactive and will provide ample opportunity for community dialogue and input.

Community Visioning Workshop: November 18 @ 6:30 – 8:30 P.M.

Planning Commission Briefing: November 19 @ 1:15 P.M.

The City of Big Bear Lake is working with the community to develop Rathbun Creek Corridor sustainability Plan. This plan will provide specific direction to Rathbun Creek, building on opportunities and recommendations identified in the Big Bear Valley Pedestrian, Bicycle and Equestrian Master Plan. Participating Partners are the City of Big Bear Lake, MIG and SCAG.

The Rathbun Creek Corridor Sustainability Plan will focus on multiple objectives such as:

Ø Environmental impact and conservation focused on watershed health and wildlife habitat

Ø Community asset building to strengthen recreation opportunities and local destinations 

Ø Economic development to positively impact business and property values

Ø Recreation and transportation improvements to connect Big Bear Lake to the surrounding mountains

Both the Tuesday November 18th Community Workshop and the Wednesday Planning Commission Briefing will take place at the Big Bear Lake Civic & Performing Arts Center, Hofert Hall, located at 39707 Big Bear Blvd. Big Bear Lake, CA 92315
