San Bernardino____The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans)      District #8 began a maintenance project to mill and overlay current pavement and upgrade guardrail on the shoulder of State Route 18 (SR-18) between Old Waterman Canyon Road and State Route 138 (SR-138). The $17 million project was awarded to All American Asphalt.  The project began Monday, June 11th and is expected to be complete in late 2018.

The guardrail work will begin at State Route 138 (SR 138) and move downhill (south).  The paving will begin after the guardrail work is completed.  One lane will remain open in each direction during work hours.

Motorists can expect delays due to one-way traffic control and occasional, short-term, moving lane closures between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday.

Commercial trucks are encouraged to avoid the area due to reduced lane width. Please consider using alternate routes during work hours to avoid delays
