  State Route-18 PAVING PROJECT

 

 

State Route 18 out of Big Bear Lake 

Thursday September 22, 2016, San Bernardino, CA ____ The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 8 has rescheduled the suspended the paving project on State Route 18 (SR 18), to begin Monday, September 26th 

The $2.3 million contract was awarded to All American Asphalt and will provide a pavement overlay from Running Springs to just south of Lake View Point.

Work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. with no work on Fridays. Traffic control, or flagging, will be necessary during the work hours. 

Motorists driving to Big Bear Valley are advised to travel State Route 38 to avoid this project, the three projects on SR-330, and the upcoming daytime closures on SR-18 in the Arctic Circle beginning Monday October 3rd.

The contractor hopes to complete the SR-18 paving project by the end of October 2016, however this schedule may be affected by inclement weather and/or material acceptance standards.
