Traffic Accident Causes Road Closure 

 

UPDATE:  March 24, 2015  

The March 23rd traffic collision that occurred on SR-38 east of Jenks Lake Road, involved only one vehicle.  The 1996 Ford Taurus, gold in color was driven by Walter Charles Goode, a resident of Hemet, California. Seventy-four year old Goode was traveling eastbound on SR-38, when he lost control of the Taurus resulting in a rollover.

Units responding to the accident were San Bernardino Forest Service, San Bernardino County Fire and Big Bear Fire. The injured Taurus driver was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where he was treated for an arterial bleeding in his right leg.

California Highway Patrol Officer Alton Gunnoe is conducting a full investigation of the accident. 

Original Story 

At approximately 9:47 A.M. a traffic collision occurred that resulted in authorities calling for a road closure at State Route 38, 9 miles east of Angelus Oaks and East Jenks Road. Multiple injured occupants were air-lifted to a local hospital. No more information is available at this time (11:20 A.M.) 

More information may be released after the investigation has been completed.  

There will be 1-Way controlled traffic at various locations from 5 miles of the Junction I-10 to 3 miles west of the Mill Creek Ranger Station, from 8:00 A.M.to 2:00 P.M. Monday March 23rd to March 26th.
