Supervisors
Adopt Big Bear City Roads
“I applaud the
diligence of the staff at the Department of Public Works….” Supervisor Ramos
Tuesday December 16, 2014, the San Bernardino County Board
of Supervisors adopted a resolution to accept Crimson Circle, Kayah Drive, and
Maple Ridge Drive located in the Big Bear City into the County Maintained Road
System (CMRS).
Accepting these roads into the CMRS will ensure that the
appropriate infrastructure needed to support the existing land use is
maintained. This action also allows the Department of Public Works (Department)
to immediately begin snow removal services on these roads.
The Department intended to recommend that the Board accept
these roads into the CMRS in January of 2015. However, on December 15, 2014,
the Department determined that the weather forecast called for up to 11 inches
of snow for a 36-hour period starting today which could impact the public’s use
of the subject roads and the health, safety and welfare of the public.
As a result, immediate action was taken by the Board to
bring these roads into the CMRS in order for the Department to provide snow
removal services.
“I applaud the diligence of the staff at the Department of
Public Works for their efforts to ensure the safety of our residents in the Big
Bear City area,” Supervisor Ramos stated. “While we welcome the
much-anticipated snow to our mountains, residents who live along these roads
can rest-assured that they will have access to their roads during the impending
storm and those that may follow.”
