Increasing traffic safety is an integral part of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's
strategic plan. In an ongoing effort to further this goal, Sheriff Deputies are
being deployed, focusing in the school zones around Needles, California and
will be issuing citations to those drivers who violate the pedestrian
right-of-way, and the orders given by school crossing guards.
Wednesday November 22, 2017, Sheriff Deputies from the Colorado River
Station/Needles Police Department conducted an enforcement action along
Washington Street and Bailey Avenue. Over the course of the morning, one
citation was issued for CVC 2815 -
Failure to Obey School Crossing Guard.

San
Bernardino County Sheriff John McMahon urges everyone to practice traffic
safety laws, especially where children are present. This is a vital concern for
the safety of school children throughout California.
Drivers are reminded to
yield to all pedestrians in designated crosswalks and obey the school crossing
guards during school hours. Additional enforcement efforts will be conducted
throughout the school year to ensure traffic safety.
