Big Bear Valley’s
Veterans Day 2016 recognition ceremony in honor of all United States
Military Veterans will be Friday November 11th at the Convention
Center at Big Bear Lake.
Opening the morning traditional observance will be the Color Guard entrance
march of a combination of local Veterans from all U.S. Armed Services.
Participants in the ceremony will be Lieutenant Colonel Henry Peralez, City of Big
Bear Lake Mayor David Caretto and guest speaker U.S. Army Colonel Sidney Melton. Colonel
Melton is Commander of the 916th Support Brigade at Fort Irwin,
California.
Several
World War II Veterans are expected to attend and participate in the festivities.
Again as in
previous Veterans celebrations, vocal teacher Diane Sloan Kubeja will include high
school students with their musical contribution. The young singers, the Voices
of Males will treat the Veterans, their families and friends with familiar
patriotic renditions beginning with the national anthem, Star Spangled Banner, followed by America The Beautiful and God
Bless America.
Friday
morning’s recognition of our country’s Veterans will not be lengthy but
welcomes everyone from all areas and all states throughout the United States.
