In the
Village of BIG BEAR LAKE
Thanksgiving Friday!
Santa Claus greets the crowd in the Village
of Big Bear Lake
Be
ready for Jack Frost nipping at your nose when you, family and friends go to
the Annual Christmas in the Village of
Big Bear Lake, the holiday celebration for Big Bear Valley, Friday November
27th evening. The streets are
closed to traffic before 4:00 P.M. to allow for people to arrive early and
visit the shops, get a hot cocoa, enjoy cookies and warm by the fire-pits.
Thousands
of children with their parents, winter enthusiasts, and Christmas carolers, all
gather near the Christmas Tree lot located at Pine Knot Avenue and Village
Drive, to join in the joyful festivities. Bundled in warm gloves, caps and
coats the crowd is prepared to weather the cold for a short time, that for
years has jump-started the Holiday Season in Big Bear Valley.
Steve Cassling checks his watch for the
arrival of Santa Claus
Beginning
at 5:00 P.M., Master of Ceremonies Steve Cassling gets the brief program started
off with Mayor David Caretto lighting the tall Village Christmas Tree. Also
included will be the Mountain Marvelettes,
singing holiday hit songs and the Voices
of Christmas, Dickens era Acapella Carolers,
who will also stroll the Village while singing Christmas carols.
Promptly
at 5:30 P.M. will be the Santa Claus Grand Entrance from Big Bear Boulevard on
to Pine Knot Avenue, with the Big Bear Fire Engine delivering Santa and Mrs.
Claus to the Christmas Tree and Santa’s house site. Santa Claus will be
greeting children in the Village every Saturday and Sunday until
Christmas Day, from 10:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M.
Merry
Christmas to All! Happy New 2016!
