Burton
Mountain Festival 2015

Big Bear Mountain
Resorts is the next stop for the country’s most anticipated traveling snowboard
event series. Beginning Saturday,
January 17th through Monday January 19th,
Bear Mountain will host the Burton Mountain Festival to offer riders an
extensive snowboard demo experience and the opportunity to win product
giveaways. The festival is a free community event with the purchase of a lift
ticket and will include activities, music and entertainment.
“If you’re a snowboarder, then the Burton Mountain
Festival is the place to be,” said Rio Tanbara, Bear Mountain Marketing
Director. “It’s a great opportunity for the public to try the latest snowboard
equipment.”
For the youngest of riders, a free introduction to the
Riglet experience will be available through sign-up. Children as young as three
can learn with a certified snowboard instructor at Bear Mountain’s Riglet Park,
an area that includes miniature park features such as boxes, ramps and rails.
Burton will provide the smallest children with snowboards, boots and bindings
to borrow.
The Burton Mountain Festival includes the 2nd Annual Party in Your Park (P.I.Y.P)
snowboard contest series. Held January 17th from 11:00 A.M. to
noon, snowboarders can sign up at the Burton Lounge Tent
from 9:00
A.M. to 10:00 A.M. Registration is free and each rider will be added to
one of three teams who work together during the nationwide event. Members of
the winning team will be awarded a grand prize and the best riders of the
contest will be invited to compete in the west and east coast finals.
New to this
year’s festival is the Burton Girls Ride Day Series, which will be held January 17th.
The day series event includes a complimentary breakfast and the opportunity for riders to
take laps with Finnish freestyler Enni Rukajärvi during the Burton Girls pro
ride. Dedicated to creating an inviting environment, especially for women, the
Burton Girls tent will have staff on hand to assist female riders in choosing
the latest gear.
