WOLF Awareness Week
At the ZOO Saturday
October 17th
Bring the family and best friends to celebrate Wolf
Awareness Day at the Big Bear
Alpine Zoo. Beginning at 11:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M., there will be
educational and fun things to do at the Zoo. The Big Bear Alpine Zoo joins other zoos and animal sanctuaries around
the country in celebrating Wolf Awareness Week.
At the special ‘Wolf Event’ the many misconceptions and myths
about wolves will be dispelled. Those attending will get an ‘live’ education about
the important role that wolves play within the ecosystem and that wolves are
not so bad after all.
Come and practice your howling skills! See if your howl is good
enough to get the wolves to howl back. The
Big Bear Alpine Zoo currently has 9 nine gray wolves to join on the howl.
Big Bear Alpine Zoo is located at 43285
Goldmine Drive in Big Bear Lake, Moonridge Drive to Clubview Drive across from
Bear Mountain Ski Resort. The zoo’s Winter
hours are 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., Monday thru Friday and 10:00 A.M. to 4:00
P.M., Saturdays and Sundays.
