Extricated 2 Passengers

Monday June 6th just before 7:00 P.M., San Bernardino County Fire Department (SBCoFD) and Barstow Marine Corp Logistics Base Fire units,   responded to a single vehicle rollover with patients trapped on the Interstate 15 at Cima Road near Baker.

The first fire unit on scene was SBCoFD’s E-53, which is stationed in Baker, 30 miles south of the incident. The crew from E-53 found two adult passengers  trapped in the vehicle.  

Immediately, the emergency personnel, began using extrication equipment to gain access to the two victims still trapped inside. Extrication took approximately seven minutes to free the passengers.  One patient had major injuries and was transported to a trauma center in Las Vegas, Nevada. The other was pronounced deceased on scene. The cause of the accident is under investigation by California Highway Patrol.
