Shelby at Big Bear City
Airport ….. counter announces “We’re okay!” After
he and his master, Pete Gwaltney General Manager at the airport were involved
as the fourth car in the five-car traffic accident on State Route 38. The cause
of the accidents that occurred Monday January 12th was blamed on
dangerous black-ice, that was causing drivers great difficulty in many areas, not
only on SR-38 but on Big Bear Boulevard and State Route 18 in the Arctic Circle
area. Fortunately,
Gwaltney with Shelby at his side, had climbed out of his vehicle, when a vehicle
behind theirs, landed on top of the Gwaltney car. Gwaltney was taken to the
Bear Valley Community Hospital with minor injuries, where he was treated and
released.
