San
Bernardino County Law Enforcement
JOINED
FORCES Monday

September
18, 2017, Monday afternoon, at approximately 12:30 P.M., from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Deputies located
a pick-up truck pulling a stolen trailer near the intersection of Arrow Route
and Archibald Avenue in the vicinity of Rancho Cucamonga . The Deputies
attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle; however, the driver, Alan Pacheco,
failed to yield and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The vehicle included a passenger
Domingo Guerrero.
Pacheco
led Deputies through several streets in Rancho Cucamonga before entering the
Eastbound Interstate-210. The pursuit continued from the eastbound I-210 to the
westbound Interstate 10. While evading Deputies, Pacheco drove at speeds up to
80 mph, while towing the trailer and made erratic driving maneuvers endangering
the public, Guerrero and the pursuing law enforcement.
As
the pursuit continued westbound on the I-10, Rancho Cucamonga Police relinquished the primary pursuit
responsibility to the California Highway
Patrol (CHP). CHP maintained the primary agency of the pursuit until its
culmination in the city of Pasadena.
During
the pursuit, Deputies received information from Guerrero's father that Pacheco
was armed with a handgun. It is believed that at some point during the
pursuit, Pacheco threw the handgun from the vehicle. Officers did not recover a
handgun on Pacheco, or inside the vehicle. Officers searched for the
weapon along the roadway but were unable to locate it.
Pacheco
was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, felony evading, and
kidnapping. He was transported back to Rancho Cucamonga and booked into the
West Valley Detention Center. Pacheco's bail was set at $250,000.
