Ends with Most Cash-on-Hand


In the 2019 4th quarter, FEC reports showed that State Assemblyman Jay Obernolte substantially outraised all his competitors in the race for California’s 8th District. With $415,562 raised in Q4 and over $400k cash-on-hand, Obernolte significantly outpaced any Republican challenger and doubled the Q4 number of the leading Democrat. 

In the year end reports, Democrat Chris Bubser raised $207,667 in the final quarter and Republican Tim Donnelly took in $87,066.

Assemblyman Jay Obernolte represents the 33rd Assembly District,

which includes the San Bernardino County communities of Adelanto, Apple Valley,

Baker, Barstow, Big Bear City, Big Bear Lake, Big River, Crestline,

Fort Irwin, Hesperia, Johnson Valley, Lake Arrowhead, Lenwood, Lucerne Valley,

Needles, Oak Hills, Phelan, Running Springs, Silver Lakes, Trona, 

Twentynine Palms Base, Twin Peaks and Victorville.

    

Along with the impressive fundraising numbers, local support has coalesced around Obernolte with incumbent U.S. Congressman Paul Cook and San Bernardino County Sheriff John McMahon, highlighting over 50 local elected official endorsements backing Obernolte.  

Candidate Jay Obernolte has also secured the endorsements of House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy, the California Republican Party, and the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association PAC. 
    
As a young college student Jay Obernolte started FarSight Studios, a software development company, in his dorm room. Since then, Jay has created hundreds of well-paying, livable wage jobs and today, his local small business employs dozens of residents in the 8th Congressional District. 
    
Jay also has 15 years of experience in public service. He is currently serving a third term representing the 33rd Assembly District in the California State Legislature, which includes over 65% of the 8th Congressional District's voters. Jay and Heather been married for 23 years and are the parents of two sons, Hale and Troy Obernolte, who are currently college students.
