Airlifted from Loma Linda Hills
Friday March 1, 2019 afternoon, the Crew
of San Bernardino County Emergency
Operations Division- Aviation Unit Helicopter - 40King 5 was dispatched to assist Loma Linda Sheriff Deputies and the Colton Fire Department Crew in response to an off-road motorcycle
crash, in the Loma Linda Hills area. The reporting person stated that the
rider was suffering from a femur fracture and was unable to move.
The 40King 5 arrived in the accident
site, quickly locating the downed rider.
The motorcyclist was with a group of other riders in of Loma Linda Hills
area and was not accessible to fire rescuers with apparatus and accessible ambulances.
The crew of 40King 5 performed an
off-site landing and the Tactical Flight Officer/EMT made contact with the
rider. The rider was found to have deformation of his left thigh and
reported losing consciousness when he crashed. Due to his injuries and
the inability to access his location from the ground, Helicopter Air Rescue 307 responded to assist.
Once AR307 arrived, the rider was given additional medical attention on
the ground, loaded into a stokes basket, and flown to Loma Linda Medical Center
