OBERNOLTE Strong Fighter

… against the gas tax, fire tax & tax on drinking water.

February, 2020____ Assemblyman and business owner Jay Obernolte announced he has received the endorsement of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association (HJTA) PAC in his campaign for the 8th Congressional District.

The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association was founded in 1978 after the passage of Proposition 13, which stabilized property taxes and limited politicians’ ability to raise taxes at will. Since then the HJTA has been the preeminent voice to advance taxpayers’ rights, including the right to limited taxation, the right to vote on tax increases and the right of economical, equitable and efficient use of taxpayer dollars.

“Jay Obernolte is a champion for taxpayers and a strong defender of taxpayers’ rights,” HJTA President Jon Coupal said. “He has led the fight against the gas tax, fire tax and the tax on drinking water. We know he will continue to protect taxpayers in Congress and that’s why the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association PAC endorses Jay Obernolte.”

“As a small business owner and taxpayer, I understand that our family’s budgets are already stretched to the limit,” Obernolte stated. “I am running for Congress to protect our wallets, fix our affordability crisis and ensure our government balances its budget so we do not pass on unsustainable debt to our children and grandchildren.”

The Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association joins the Inland Empire Taxpayers Association and the High Desert Taxpayers Association in supporting Assemblyman Obernolte. Assemblyman Obernolte is running to represent the 8th Congressional District which includes all or portions of the counties of Inyo, Mono, and San Bernardino.

Jay Obernolte started FarSight Studios, a software development company, in his college dorm room. Since then, he has created hundreds of well-paying, livable wage jobs and today, his local small business employs dozens of residents in the 8th Congressional District. Jay also has 14 years of experience in public service.

He is currently serving a third-term representing the 33rd Assembly District in the California State Legislature, which includes over 65% of the 8th Congressional District's voters. Married 23 years, Jay and Heather are the parents of two sons, Hale and Troy.
