Results in One Person Dead

Cucamonga Police Station responded
to an unrgent call Friday, October 8, 2021, at 11:28 P.M of a traffic collision
at Base Line Road and Elllena Way East, in Rancho Cucamonga.
Through
preliminary investigation, the responders determined that Driver 1 was
traveling east on Base Line Road at Ellena Way East and merged into the left
turn lane. Driver 2 was traveling west on Base Line Road approaching Ellena Way
East. Driver 1 turned left into the intersection to head north on Ellena Way
East, when Driver 2 collided into the passenger side of the vehicle.
Also, Rancho Cucamonga
Fire responders arrived at the scene to render medical aid. Driver 2 was
transported by AMR Ambulance to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with major
injuries. Driver 2 succumbed to his injuries Monday, October 11, 2021.
The two-vehicle collision
is currently under investigation by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Major
Accident Investigation Team (M.A.I.T). Anyone with any information
