The San
Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force
is a team of investigators in the San Bernardino County
Sheriff Department, San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office, San
Bernardino Police Department, Ontario Police Department, California State
Parole, Office of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
The San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force
responded to the call from San Bernardino Police Officers to assist with an
investigation at 10:00 P.M., December 9, 2018, who
had located and detained a young female, believed to be a minor and possibly
involved in prostitution.
The Human Trafficking Task Force Investigators and Police met with the female at the San
Bernardino County Sheriff Central Station and found the 15-year-old female runaway
from the City of Redlands. Also, the
authorities learned the juvenile had been located near the
intersection of 8th and G Street in the downtown area of San
Bernardino. That location falls within the boundaries of a specific area within the City of San Bernardino, known for its high
volume of Prostitution.
During the interview with the
juvenile, the Human Trafficking Task
Force
investigators established her to be
actively involved in prostitution and a victim of the commercial sex industry.
At the time of the interview, the
victim was reluctant to provide investigators with any information related to
the identity of her trafficker(s). The victim was rescued, provided access to
services and safely released into the custody of Child and Family Services. Human
Trafficking Task Force team members continued their investigation to identify the
15-year-old victim's trafficker(s).
During the investigation, the Task Force team found evidence linking both
suspects to the ongoing Prostitution and Trafficking of the juvenile victim in
both Riverside and San Bernardino counties. As a result of this
investigation, Gregory Allen Todd
and Latrice Nichelle Potts were booked
at San Bernardino Central Detention
Center for Felony Pimping, Pandering and Human Trafficking of a Minor. Both
Todd and Potts are being held with bail set at $150,000 each.
