P.M.:
SR 38 Downbound Lanes opened in the Barton Flats
area at 4:40 P.M., Thursday afternoon, with one-way traffic control to both
upbound and downbound directions. All lanes on State Route 38 will open at dark.
If there is remaining lumber to be removed, the
lanes will go back to the previous one-lane open and traffic control, until Friday
morning.

UPDATE 1:00 P.M.:
The overturned big rig on SR 38 (closed between Angelus Oaks and
Lake Williams). The truck-tractor has been up righted and the lumber is
being removed from the creek below. The boards are about 40 feet long and
over 100 of them in the creek. The boards are being removed one at a
time.
The estimated time of opening SR 38 is between 4 to 6 hours (3:00
P.M. to 5:00 P.M. ).
UPDATE: 10:10 A.M. State Route 38 Will reopen at approximately 2:00 P.M.
Report that there are NO injuries and No Hazmat necessary
to the lumber spill.
Thursday morning at 7:22 A.M. a traffic collision
was reported on State Route 38 involving an overturned big rig carrying a
load of lumber. The accident happened approximately five miles east of Angelus
Oaks near mile-marker #5553 at Barton Flats.
As a result, law enforcement called for a
hard closure on SR-38 from Angelus Oaks to Lake Williams near Erwin Lake. The
closure is anticipated to last 4-6 hours.
Information will be updated as it becomes
available as crews work to remove the truck and debris from the roadway.
