Pavement Replacement
Project
14
Weekends

SAN
BERNARDINO – The California Department of Transportation
(Caltrans) continues work
on the $26 million Interstate 10 (I-10) Pavement Replacement Project. The
project replaces concrete pavement in both directions of I-10 between Ford
Street in the City of Redlands and Live Oak Canyon Road in the City of Yucaipa.
Beginning
the weekend of Friday July 8, 2016 eastbound I-10 motorists will be using the cross-over
lane during weekend construction work. For approximately 14 weekends Eastbound lanes
will be reduced to THREE lanes (including the crossover lane), each weekend,
between 9:00
P.M. Friday night through 4:00 A.M. Monday morning.
The
cross-over lane merges over the center median and onto the number one (1) lane
of the Westbound
traffic. The lane is 11 feet wide with one (1) foot shoulders and K-rail on
both sides.
Once
a vehicle enters the crossover lane at Ford Street in Redlands, it will NOT
be able to exit until
County Line Road in Yucaipa. Trucks and busses are not allowed in the crossover
lane.
The
westbound direction will maintain four open lanes of travel. Westbound lane
widths will also be
reduced to 11 feet.
Motorist
are advised that the speed limit is reduced to 55 MPH.
