Sunday, November 12th, at 12:30 P.M, San Bernardino County Fire responded 9-1-1 of a traffic accident involving a single motorcycle rider on State Route-38, near mile marker 25.  The adult male rider was thrown over the side of the highway landing approximately 100 feet down the embankment.

Due to the remote location of the patient, San Bernardino County Fire requested assistance from San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Aviation Unit for a hoist extraction of the patient.

San Bernardino County Sheriff San Gorgonio Search and Rescue Team with the County Sheriff Aviation Unit #06 performed a successful hoist mission and transported the patient Robert Brough, of Riverside, California, to a local trauma center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

State Route-38, in the Barton Flats area was closed in both directions to facilitate the rescue and was re-opened shortly after the conclusion of the incident.
