Sheriff Aviation Unit

Sunday, November 12th, at 12:30 P.M, San
Bernardino County Fire responded 9-1-1
of a traffic accident involving a single motorcycle rider on State
Route-38, near mile marker 25. The adult male rider was thrown over the
side of the highway landing approximately 100 feet down the embankment.
Due to the remote location of the patient, San Bernardino
County Fire requested assistance from San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Aviation
Unit for a hoist extraction of the patient.
San Bernardino County Sheriff San Gorgonio Search and Rescue Team with the County
Sheriff Aviation Unit #06 performed a successful hoist
mission and transported the patient Robert
Brough, of Riverside, California, to a local trauma center
for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
State Route-38, in the Barton Flats area was closed
in both directions to facilitate the rescue and was re-opened shortly after the
conclusion of the incident.
