"EVERY 15 MINUTES"
Life's lessons are best learned through experience. Unfortunately, when
the target audience is teens and the topic is drinking and texting while
driving, experience is not the teacher of choice.
The Every 15 Minutes Program offers
real-life experience without the real-life risks. This emotionally charged
program, entitled Every 15 Minutes, is an
event designed to dramatically instill teenagers with the potentially dangerous
consequences of drinking alcohol and texting while driving. This powerful
program will challenge students to think about drinking, texting while driving,
personal safety, and the responsibility of making mature decisions when lives
are involved. http://www.every15minutes.com/aboutus/
Tuesday June 2, 2015 beginning at 8:00 A.M., the
Arrowhead
California Highway Patrol in conjunction with the San Bernardino County Big Bear Sherriff
& Deputies, the Big Bear
Fire Department and the Big Bear High School will be
conducting an Every 15 Minutes Safety
presentation at Big Bear High School.
The Every 15 Minutes
Safety program is a vital part of developing effective
educational strategies that address the circumstances that place adolescents at
risk for underage drinking and driving under the influence. The program is a school-based, alcohol
prevention program that incorporates simulated alcohol related consequences
with community elements that include students, parents, educators, school
administrators, health systems, emergency services and law enforcement
personnel.
As a result of the Every
15 Minutes event, the street in front of the High School, Maple
Lane will be closed between Big Bear Boulevard (SR-38) and Baldwin Lane. The closure will start at 8:00 A.M. and will
continue until 12:00 Noon. We urge the community to plan ahead and use
alternate routes.
The California Highway
Patrol reminds you to ‘
NEVER DRINK and DRIVE’.
