Director Paul Marconi today issued the following statement to commemorate the
utility’s growth to 24,000 customers:
“Bear Valley Electric Service is excited to announce that we now serve
24,000 customers throughout the Big Bear region. Economic growth and the
region’s popularity have contributed to a steady increase of customers over the
last decade.
We have been serving the community since 1929, starting with approximately
150 customers. It’s exciting to serve this community and watch it grow and
thrive. Our team of 41 local professionals is proud to be part of such a
wonderful area.
Bear Valley Electric Service is investing in new technologies and
infrastructure that will help make living in and visiting the area even more
desirable. Faster power outage notification and repair, and electronic vehicle
programs that help travelers visit the region with a greener footprint, are all
designed to make living and playing on the mountain relaxing and convenient.
