Spending millions of SB 1 GAS TAX Dollars to build toll lanes=

DOUBLE TAXATION & WRONG!!

while Qualifying for the November 2018 Ballot

Hesperia, CA) – Recently, Assemblyman Jay Obernolte issued the following statement on the qualification of the initiative to repeal the SB 1 GAS and CAR TAXES INCREASES for the November 2018 ballot:

“The SB 1 gas and car taxes are unfair and unnecessary. For years Sacramento politicians have diverted billions of dollars away from roads. Instead of dedicating those funds to their intended purpose, and despite the fact California has an $9 billion dollar budget surplus, they passed a regressive tax that makes our state even more unaffordable then it already is. Adding insult to injury, the funds from the SB 1 gas and car tax increases are being used for toll lanes, bike lanes and rail lines.

Spending millions of SB 1 gas tax dollars to build toll lanes is double taxation and wrong. This tax needs to be repealed and the legislature needs to use our existing surplus to fix our roads instead of burdening Californians with more taxes.”
