October 23, 2017, Monday at 5:05 P.M. on State Route 330 (San Bernardino Mountains, out of Highland) a 1988 Ford Dump Truck pulling a flatbed trailer loaded with construction equipment, was traveling south-bound.

Driver of the Ford truck, Jesus Padilla Marquez, a 47 years-old resident of Menifee, California was travelling at approximately 25 - 30 miles per hour, north of the SR-330 Middle Passing Lanes. Marquez was negotiating a left turn when he experienced the possibility of the truck’s brakes overheating. As a result, the Ford truck collided with the mountainside, consequently overturning, partially blocking the southbound lane of SR-330.

The truck overturn-collision with the brakes catching on fire, halted mountain traffic. This incident caused SR-330 to be closed to traffic for approximately three & a half hours, in both directions.

Fortunately, Jesus Padilla Marquez claimed no injuries as a result of this traffic collision.
